Aurajoki Oy Harnesses Solar Power for Sustainable Energy in Lieto

Aurajoki Oy has made another significant stride toward a greener future by investing in solar power as part of its commitment to sustainable business practices. In July, the company inaugurated Europe’s most environmentally friendly hot-dip galvanizing plant in Lieto, featuring a new solar power plant installed on its roof. Despite the challenging timing during the darkest period of the year, the solar plant is now ready to harness the first rays of spring sunshine to produce completely emission-free energy. The project was executed swiftly and seamlessly in collaboration with solar power partner Solnet.

“Aurajoki is a prime example of an industrial company truly investing in sustainability through solar electricity. We want to thank Aurajoki for the smooth cooperation that ensured the Lieto project was completed successfully. Despite minor weather fluctuations, the installation was finished on schedule, and the plant was handed over just in time for Christmas. Our collaboration will continue with the maintenance of the solar facility,” commented Solnet Group COO and Finland Country Manager Veli-Matti Heimonen.
