I joined Aurajoki in May 2021 to complete an internship as part of my studies in mechanical engineering. I already had some understanding of coating processes, but it wasn’t until my internship that I truly grasped the extensive nature of the hot-dip galvanizing process. After a brief return to my studies, I quickly found myself back at Aurajoki, this time in supervisory roles and working on my thesis. Now, I am fully employed as the Production Supervisor at the Pirkkala hot-dip galvanizing plant.
I found my studies to be valuable, but it was through hands-on work that I gained a real perspective on what coating work entails. I have enjoyed my time at Aurajoki and have received a good balance of responsibility and support. The best part of my job is its versatility: some tasks are computer-based, while others involve interacting with both our staff and customers. My goal is to continue building expertise and progressing towards more independent management roles.
