Make an Impact by Choosing Low-Carbon Zinc

Now, we offer you the opportunity to make a concrete impact on the greenhouse gas emissions of hot-dip galvanizing by choosing low-carbon zinc. Boliden’s low-carbon zinc has a carbon footprint of no more than 1 kg CO₂e per kilogram of zinc produced. Even the standard production carbon footprint is low (under 2 kg CO₂e), while the industry average is around 3.6 kg CO₂e. The zinc is mined at Boliden’s own mines in Sweden and Ireland, using fossil-free energy. A smaller carbon footprint, a greater impact.
Our Passivation Process – The Best Protection for Hot-Dip Galvanized Surfaces
The passivation process at Europe’s most environmentally friendly hot-dip galvanizing plant creates a stunningly bright and uniform protective layer on galvanized surfaces. This not only enhances the appearance of the product but also ensures excellent corrosion protection, preventing the formation of white rust for several months.
Our passivation is based on trivalent chromium (Cr3+). Learn more about our supplier’s SS testing here.
